After recently securing wireless spectrum in locations across Canada, EastLink plans to rollout an advanced wireless network offering the latest in 3G technology to its customers. As part of this plan, EastLink requires a Director, Access Engineering to join their team and play a pivotal role in building and launching the wireless network, enabling EastLink to become a full-service telecommunications and entertainment provider.
Reporting to the President of the wireless division, the Director, Access Engineering will be part of the senior leadership team and play an integral role in setting the future strategy of this division. S/he will be tasked with growing and leading the access wireless team that is ultimately responsible for the design, deployment, and optimization of EastLink’s new wireless network. The ideal candidate has proven leadership qualities and the ability to build highly effective teams, communicate a vision, and create a collaborative, innovative environment that not only stimulates creative thinking but also creates a strong morale and team spirit. With several years of experience in the wireless industry holding increasingly senior management positions, s/he has honed his/her management skills and has a solid understanding of the fundamentals surrounding radio network engineering, network performance and/or radio network optimization. An educational background in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
