Chief Technical Officer (CTO, Telecomm Cable Laying Company)
1. Job Title : Chief Technical Officer (CTO, Telecomm Cable Laying Company)
2. Department: Technology (Network & Operations)

6. Experience : 20 Years +
7. Responsibilities: The CTO shall be responsible for, directing all network planning, engineering and operations for the Company as well as ensuring the network evolution/services/ products are designed, implemented, provisioned and operated to meet quality and revenue objectives. The CTO shall also be responsible for, directing network build out, capacity planning, service development and expansion to meet business requirements as well as maintaining the network to achieve KPIs and cost effective business operations.
Specifically, the CTO shall
• Supervise the project management for the Client of Target build out and ensure readiness for service delivery.
• Manage the day-to-day network operations and ensure Client of Target services achieve the SLA requirements of its customers.
• Plan network expansion and new services in conjunction with the business and key partners.
• Support the development of new businesses relationships and/or partnerships in the operating countries to support the Client of Target.
• Ensure overall network security, network resilience and disaster recovery planning.
• Ensure successful maintenance and operational support for the network.
• Support the sales/business development process by ensuring operational availability of customized solutions for Client of Target customers.
• Be responsible for implementation of the end-to-end network service delivery platform.
• Be responsible for future network builds and evolution of network service, interconnect topology, optimization and capacity planning .
• Provide operational support to contract negotiations and management of international operators/landing party partners including Most Reputed Communication Companies.
• Be responsible for internal Information Technology requirements and provisioning.
8. Supervision : To Work Directly with CEO
9. Contacts :
• Engages with other executive and managerial level colleagues on business strategy to ensure network evolves and grows in line with business needs.
• Close coordination with the Commercial Director and regular interactions with the sales teams to understand customer requirements in order to design and proffer adequate/custom solutions.
• Primary technical interface with Tyco and other third party contractors/ companies on network growth and build out and ongoing operational issues critical to the success of the Client of Target Consultants project.
10. Competencies Required:
• Strong technical and network engineering and operations skills.
• Major network program management and contract management.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Electrical Engineering Degree, preferably a Master’s Degree / Phd.
• Minimum of Fifteen Years experience in Telecommunications Network Operations.
• Experience with the development and operations of fiber optic cable networks, possibly including submarine.
• Experience deploying backbone network solutions using SDH, IP and MPLS Technologies.
• Minimum of ten years in supervisory management.
11. Demands of the Job :
• Ability meet tight deadlines;
• Ability to travel within and out of the country at short notice.
