JOB ll CHICAGO ll System Integration Test Engr

JOB SUMMARY:
Seeking a motivated, detail oriented, and hands-on software test engineer to participate and conduct software testing activities of a small, growing team of software integration test engineers.
Candidate must be proficient in functional, system level, performance and acceptance test phases as well as opening, tracking, retesting and closing the defects.
Responsible for creating the test strategy as well as executing the test cases – mostly Linux based applications. Will engage in functional, regression and integration testing

Develop, maintain, and improve automated test scripts and other software tools for end-to-end and regression testing
Execute functional, system integration, automation, soak, and end to end system testing in system lab as well as in production.
Reproduce field problems and open defects in Test Director
Participate in bug scrub review meetings
Verify and validate defect fixes and close them
Monitor, track and report test status and bug statistics.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 1-2 years of direct linux/unix OS experience. Preferred Vi/Linux scripting exp.
5-7+ years experience in software test and defect management cycles.
Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and ability to concurrently manage multiple deadline-driven tasks and projects.
Powerful advocate for advancing quality in all aspects of product test cycle.
Solid understanding of issues of software technologies scalability, maintainability, and data structures as they relate to internet applications.
Experience in building test frameworks in test automation.
Familiarity with commercial and open source test automation and test case management technologies
Ability to troubleshoot and analyze application issues to root cause where possible.
Exceptional abilities designing/implement ing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Expertise in authoring methodologies and strategies with a focus in functional testing, stress and load testing, test case planning, and documentation.
Strong Unix, Windows and scripting skills.
Must have hands on experience
Proficient with Unix and Linux as well as Perl, Python, and other script languages as well as other tools such as Win Runner, Test Director, and Wireshark.
