MISSION/OBJECTIVE of Job Position: Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, process measurement and control systems and services for the Oil and Gas the energy sector (heavy oil well testing, waste water treatment, automatic tank dewatering, desalter controls, and foam detection/control systems)
SKILLS SET & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B. S. E. E.) or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (M. S. E. E.) or equivalent
Five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong proficiency in electronics design, with an emphasis in analog, mixed signal, radio frequency (RF), and/or microwave circuit design.
Experience with instrumentation and Hazardous Area Certifications (ATEX and UL 508A) is a major plus.
Analog design experience should include simple to complex filters; high resolution A/D and D/A; complex preamp circuits; low power designs; and power supply design. VDHL, Verilog, C, MATLAB are highly desirable.
Knowledge of Spreadsheet software; Design software; Internet software and Project Management software. Proficiency in OrCAD, Protel, or other Electronic Design Package, Microsoft Project and Version Control software.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
â–ª Design, develop, test and maintain complex analog circuitry for oil field instrumentation and take these products through the safety certification process.
â–ª RF experience in RF mixer; RF power amplifier; RF switch.
â–ª May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/ specialist.
â–ª Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
â–ª Designs and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.
â–ª Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses.
â–ª Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
â–ª Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
â–ª Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
â–ª A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Provide team leadership in a team-based development environment.
